Confederate Charge at Shiloh Hornets Nest (from Chicago Panorama 1883)
Colonel Wifcliffe, Commander of the Seventh Kentucky Infantry, CSA, was severely wounded at the battle of Shiloh, Tennessee, on April 6, 1862.
He was likely involved in one of the many charges against the Hornet's Nest, along with 10,000 other Confederates.
He died April 22, 1862 of his wounds in Madison County, Tennessee,
